From Cynthia Whitehawk: "An array of large beautiful iridescent black with gray base feathers to represent the powerful Spirit Energy of the Spirit Raven spiritually and ceremonially. All feathers were gathered from naturally molting Black Shoulder Peahens - they are not dyed. As with all totems, amulets and fetishes, feathers represent and embody the energy and Spirit of the Sacred creature to ceremony without harming the actual being."

RAVEN SPIRIT MEDICINE

Throughout the tribes in Alaska, from the Yupik people of the northwestern delta to the Tlingit, Haida and Tsimshian of the southeast waters, there are legends, prophesies and information that tell us about how Raven, who in the beginning was white, turned black in the process of bringing light to humanity. Many tribes see Raven as messenger from the Spirit World, a Bringer of Light and a reminder to live with joy, laughter and playfulness. Raven tells us at times "to make light of ", to have a sense of humor and to remember that it is not our task to carry all the burdens of the world or to take life too seriously.
