After being carefully removed from the horse's hoof, each Lucky Horseshoe is heated in a forge, brushed to remove dirt and then treated with special oil for a rich, steel-black finish. Protruding nails are removed but the odd nail head might remain as a special bonus! Each shoe is very different: it shows the individual shape of the hoof that it came from and has unique wear marks that give clues to the terrain over which the horse traveled and the particular way in which that horse moved. | ||||
