7 Vintage Bangle Bracelets

Bargain Barn    Native American Pawn    New Native American Jewelry

Costurme Jewelry Bracelets

Bangle Bracelets can be worn singly or in groups of 20 or more, but a common configuration is in a group of seven which is called a "semanaria" which stands for a week, one bracelet for every day of the week.

Most of these bracelets are sterling silver, five are marked (Stamps of 925, Sterling, Taxco or Mexico indicate Sterling Silver); two are not marked. Twist bracelets are hard to mark since they don't have a flat surface on which to stamp hallmarks. They have oxidized according to their age and could be polished (see our cloths hyperlink in box below) or left with this great patina.

From left to right, here are the details:

  • 1 - Stamped with S and stamped inside "MEXICO MEXICO"
  • 2 - Double rope twist, gorgeous workmanship, no markings inside (difficult to mark a twist)
  • 3 - Braided wrap, "925, TAXCO"
  • 4 - Abalone inlay, stamped inside "MEXICO"
  • 5 - Lovely floral design, no markings, may not be Sterling.
  • 6 - Very nicely made rope twist, with flattened interior surface with these markings "925, MEXICO" and what looks like "R-27"
  • 7 -Geometric, stamped "MEXICO"
