I've pondered and researched this pin yet I am unable to name it. Here's what I know: It is made from sterling silver. The center figure is either a deer or a reindeer with a maze in its middle. It is set on a background of deep blue lapis lazuli chips. There is an ornate hand made frame around this central piece.
The back has texture lines etched into it and the following information: STER |
Set at the four cardinal directions are four rectangles each with a sterling silver bear paw with a cross sign in it. The paw is set on a background of white chips which look like snow, so I am thinking polar bear. In between the paws are four pearls or what appear to be pearls set on sterling silver stems. It is a fairly heavy pin, well made and in good shape. If you have
any idea what this pin symbolizes or where it is from,
