Kingman Turquoise (originally mined in Mohave County, Arizona) is characterized by bright blue stones with white and black matrix. This mine is considered by many experts to have produced the best turquoise in North America. The terms "Kingman" and "high blue" refer to high quality hard turquoise like that of the Kingman mine. Old authentic natural Kingman turquoise is extremely rare.

Cabochon. A cabochon is a gemstone that has been smoothly shaped and polished as opposed to being cut with flat facets. This usually results in a stone with a rounded convex top and flat bottom. Opaque gems, such as turquoise are often cut as cabochons, while transparent stones such as diamonds are facetted.
