Labradorite appears sea blue, gold and green in bright light and in dim light it shows grey or dark green colors. Polished labradorite is called labradorescence. The darker variety is known as "black moonstone" which has a bluish inclusions. Originally discovered along the coast of Labrador in 1805, it is believed by some that Labradorite stone raises the level of consciousness and acts as a barrier against all negative energies.
