What is a Fetish? A fetish is a rock carving of an animal that captures the spirit and the essence of the animal, not necessarily its exact detailed conformation. Six Directions - Many Native Americans define their world with their home and village and its inhabitants in the "Middle Place" at the center of the world. From there radiate the six directions - the four cardinal directions (North, South, East West) and the Upper Dimension and the Lower Dimension.
