Vintage Sterling Silver Concho Beads with Paua Shell

14 concho beads - Each is two pieces of
sterling silver with a hollow space between.

The bottom of each bead is plain domed silver.
The top has stamping and a beautiful
sea green Paua shell set into it.

Blue Paua shell is a type of abalone that is only found in the cool blue waters of New Zealand. It is prized for its highly iridescent mother-of-pearl luster.

Each concho bead has a hole drilled in it.

It is easy to see how this was at one time a necklace with the large bead as the center.
Great to reconstruct the necklace or use for another project.
