Paula says - "These watch tips are NOS (new old stock) that were made more than a decade ago but never sold - they are brand new vintage!

"You are buying two watch tips. The term Watch Tips refers to the two Native American made decorative panels that connect the timepiece to the expansion band.

"We include at no extra charge an expansion band and the timepiece pictured here. (None of these are sterling silver nor Native American made). The timepiece will be running when it leaves here. We are selling you the tips only - the timepiece and band are included free of charge, we make no warranty on the timepiece or band. With that said, I have never had one of these watches fail me, but then I don't wear my watch in the shower or while doing dishes."

"Want your jewelry to look like new? Read my blog 'To Polish or Not to Polish'."

Vintage JewelryLouisiana Collection

A splendid Chippewa gentleman who was a disabled veteran, operated a Native American jewelry store in Louisiana which he loved very much. He and his wife shopped in the southwest for their store. When he passed on, his wife, also a disabled veteran, didn't feel she would be able to operate the store alone and besides the memories of her dear husband were so entwined with the jewelry, she felt she needed to move on. After a few years, and with the help of a good girlfriend, she began going through the items in her storage locker and sending them to us to find new homes for.

All of these items are New Old Stock and some of them are vintage. This is quite a large collection which we will be listing for some time to come.

NOTE: Items in our Vintage Shop are either USED or NEW. They might come from inheritances, estate sales, private collections, and store liquidations. Many items are brand new (NOS, New Old Stock) and in perfect condition while others may show tarnish, scratches and other signs of use. Major issues will be described in detail and shown in photos. Vintage Shop items are sold as described and are not returnable.

Why isn't this item called Native American?

The US Department of the Interior Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 and its recent Amendments require that items described as Native American or Indian be made by an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe. Furthermore, government regulations suggest that all attributions include the Native American Indian's name, tribe and federal tribal enrollment number. Because it is impossible to identify the artist for many vintage items, even if they are authentic Indian made items, we cannot and will not use the words Native American or Indian in association with such pieces.
