Paula says - "You are buying two watch tips. Striking silver work with 12K gold filled leaves. A gorgeous watch.

"In my opinion, these watch tips show all the design characteristics and workmanship of being Navajo made. But because we are unable to attribute the hallmark to a specific artist we can't legally sell it as Native American made - read more.

"We include at no extra charge an expansion band and the new timepiece pictured here. (None of these are sterling silver nor Native American made). The timepiece will be running when it leaves here. We are selling you the tips only - the timepiece and band are included free of charge, we make no warranty on the timepiece or band. With that said, I have never had one of these watches fail me, but then I don't wear my watch in the shower or while doing dishes."

Questions or more details.

Why isn't this item called Native American?

The US Department of the Interior Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 and its recent Amendments require that items described as Native American or Indian be made by an enrolled member of a federally recognized tribe. Furthermore, government regulations suggest that all attributions include the Native American Indian's name, tribe and federal tribal enrollment number. Because it is impossible to identify the artist for many vintage items, even if they are authentic Indian made items, we cannot and will not use the words Native American or Indian in association with such pieces.
