Paula says -
""This tiny, flat Medicine Wheel pouch by Cynthia Whitehawk is the perfect size for wearing over or under your jacket or shirt.
"The designs are burned onto the leather and then colored with vegetable dyes. Mineral ore is used for the white color. The leather painting is heat set to be sure the design lasts a long time. Then the bag is hand stitched and thongs and bead are added."
Words from Apache artist Cynthia Whitehawk:
MEDICINE BAG - Medicine bags are ancient personal empowerment tools. Spiritually representing the wearer, they contain that which is most Spiritually significant and healing to the individual to help guide and protect one on their journey. This might include collected Spirit objects or totems, a small feather, beads, horse hair, healing gemstones and crystals, seeds, photos and more. Those items that are important to the wearer protect, grounds them to our Mother Earth and the Creator, and brings them strength and healing.
MY MISSION - We are thankful and honored to be able to respect the Spirits of the plants, animals and Mother Earths elements who give themselves and continue their life as healing tools for us. We offer these tools for Spiritual expression, to be in balance with Mother Earth and one's self.
MEDICINE WHEEL - The Medicine Wheel represents American Indian Spirituality - the journey each individual must take to find his or her path. The Medicine Wheel is based on the four cardinal directions and the four sacred colors. A circle represents life; at the center of the circle is the eternal fire.
