These boxes and fans are made by Lakota Sioux tribal members. from Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota (see AHOPA at left). The feathers are from domestic birds such as geese and turkeys and are sometimes shaped and dyed to resemble feathers from eagle, hawk, raven and other protected birds.Read about Lakota Sioux Indians.
