About Bennie Ration
One of the greatest contemporary Native American jewelry silversmiths of our time, Bennie Ration has a distinct three dimensional style with geometric patterns figuring prominently in his pieces. Using overlay to highlight and accent his designs, Bennie Ration creates unique pieces using the finest materials. His pieces are recognized all over the world as some of the finest silverwork.
He was born on the Canoncito Navajo reservation in New Mexico into a silversmithing family. His father, John Ration, began teaching Bennie the art of silversmithing in grade school.
Kingman Turquoise comes from Mohave County, Arizona. The Kingman Mine produces bright blue stones with white and black matrix. It is considered by many to have produced the best turquoise in North America. The terms "Kingman" and "high blue" refer to high quality hard turquoise like that of the Kingman mine. Old authentic natural Kingman Turquoise is extremely rare.
