Paula says - "This vintage sterling silver concho belt has beautiful patina and is likely from the 1930's. Read the blue box below to find out more about this rare item.

"The sterling silver buckle and conchas are in excellent condition. They were all hand made right down to the individual hand cut leaves. The turquoise stones are set in smooth bezels and are all intact with no cracks. The leather belt has dried out and broken off at the end, leaving 28" . It's not surprising since it is over 80 years old!

"We’ve left this old piece AS IS, the same condition in which we received it, because the historic condition is so very appealing."

Hallmark: UITA 2

UITA is the stamp of United Indian Traders Association, which was formed in 1931 for the express purpose of authenticating Native American Indian crafts. The 2 designation was assigned to C.G. Wallace of Zuni, NM.

C. G. Wallace is probably the most famous trader name from Zuni jewelry history.  He is credited with popularizing, promoting, and helping Zuni artists close to the turn of the century.  Some of the most famous Zuni inlayers worked for him and with him, and his collection that sold at Sothebys in 1975 is world-renowned. A collection of his work is on display at the Heard Museum.

White Buffalo Zuni Pawn Collection Wolf Collection

This collection consists of a group of very old items that are most likely from the 1920s to the 1950s, due to being able to date a few of the pieces. These are part of the treasure trove gathered by a woman in her beloved travels in the southwest. They were tucked away in her home, only to be recently discovered by her daughter, who sold the collection to help with expenses for her dog and wolf rescue.

We’ve left most of the items AS IS, the condition in which we received them, because the historic condition is so very appealing

WOLF teaches great dignity, courage, powerful Spirit communications, instinct and intelligence. Deep family connection and importance, stealth, wisdom, and extreme endurance. Wolf is a powerful ally on our spiritual journeys.
