Paula says - "The amazing detail in these post dangle earrings was so hard for me to capture in a photo but scroll to the bottom of the page to see a bigger closeup. Since the discs are slightly cupped, they have three-dimensional feel, like tiny shallow woven baskets. Incredible workmanship."
Above are wire earrings of the same size to show scale.
From the Artist, Roland Begay
"I'm not much for talking about me. I started casting with the Morgans in 1973. And I started making story teller jewelry end of that year, but I call it home scene because it is what I remember seeing growing up at my grandparents' place. I rodeoed in my younger days, ran barrels, trained barrel horses. I enjoy creating jewelry. I have sooo many ideas that I want to create but just so much I can do each day." R. H. Begay.
Begay's work has won awards at the Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial and at the Heard Museum's annual show in Phoenix.
