Paula says - "On one side of this pipestone horse are powerful turquoise rainclouds bringing rain for the crops and pasture for the horses. At the bottom of the clouds is a line of mother of pearl or Acoma jet with falling rain. The other side of the horse is plain. The eyes are inlaid turquoise."

Pipestone, also known as catlinite, is a form of clay called argillite with a high iron content that colors it a deep red to pale orange. Pipestone was discovered in southwestern Minnesota by the Sioux Indians, who consider it a sacred material and use it to carve pipes and other ceremonial objects.
