H. Spencer - Navajo/Zuni
BP289 - $525 SOLD
Paula says - "Although this hallmark is attributed to a Navajo artist H. SPENCER per hallmark books, there is some discussion as to whether there is a H. Spencer that is Zuni and another that is Navajo.
"With that in mind, there are situations of collaborative efforts - where a Navajo silversmith creates a sterling cuff and places his hallmark on it then another artist, perhaps Zuni, does the inlay. This bracelet could be one of those collaborations. If so, there is no other stamped or inscribed name on this bracelet to indicate a second artist.
"Bottom line is that this is a Zuni style inlay that could have been done by a Zuni or Navajo artist. We are attributing the work per the most current and popular hallmark book."
Several tight cracks in turquoise inlay.
