Yes, we buy Dooney & Bourke Bags

Please read this entire article before contacting us about your Dooney & Bourke bag.

Because we receive hundreds of emails every day, please follow this procedure so your email goes to the proper place - otherwise it will be deleted.

Paula is passionate about Dooney and Bourke All Weather Leather (AWL) bags and we would be interested in purchasing them IF they are authentic All Weather Leather bags and meet ALL of the following criteria. Please read all the way down to the bottom before you contact us.

We purchase pre-owned vintage Dooney & Bourke handbags at WHOLESALE (dealer) prices. The prices you see on our website and on eBay are RETAIL prices, the prices customers pay for the bags. So please don't bother to write us about your bags if you are asking us to pay you retail prices.

If you are not familiar with how wholesale/retail pricing works then read my article here: Pricing: Retail, Wholesale, Keystone

Look here for authenticating factors and photos.

The bags and wallets and other AWL items must be:

  • smoke free
  • perfume free
  • Febreze free
  • odor free (no mustiness).

They must have:

  • The red, white and blue Made in USA tag sewn inside with serial number on the back.
  • The tag should not be snipped or torn.
  • If vintage they would have the large green tag.
  • If the bag is a pre-tag bag, then it will not need to have the sewn in tag.

The bags should be in very good to excellent condition, that is an 9-10 according to our Bag Condition Score Guidelines (see at bottom of page). We do not purchase bags that have missing parts, damage, stains, odors. They must be a 9 or a 10. If you wonder what a 9 or 10 bag looks like, browse the Dooney section of our site and find some - they are bright, like new !

If you have a bag or a collection of bags, follow this procedure:

Contact Paula at

In the Subject line of the email type this:

SELLING DOONEY - and then your full name

In the body of the email, send her a list of what bags you have using the names we have on our site (which are official D&B names - see bags we carry).

For each bag, list the:

  • Name
  • Color
  • Condition Score (see chart below)
  • Note of any damage, stains, wear, missing pieces
  • Price that you want for the bag (you pay shipping).

For example: Fir Large Equestrian. No fob. Condition 9. $75

If we request photos, when you send them please put the same title in the subject line of your email.

Include again the description and asking price in the email with the photos. Make sure each photo has a different name like Smith1.jpg, Smith2.jpg etc. If you send an email with a batch of photos all with the name image.jpg, I will only be able to see one.

We help many people clear out their closets and turn stash into cash but we ask that you follow our guidelines to help us keep things organized - we receive over 200 emails per day including those from people wanting to sell their vintage Dooneys and Native American jewelry!!

If you send a photo without a prior request from us, it will be automatically deleted.

If you don't send all of the information that we request above or follow the procedure as we request, we can't proceed.

Once we have seen photos of your bag and if we tell you we are interested in purchasing it you can then mail it to us at:

Horsekeeping LLC
PO Box 140
Livermore CO 80536

We don't settle on a price from photos. We will make you a firm offer once we see the bag in person. Once we come to an agreed-upon price, we pay the same day via PayPal or check, your choice. Note that if you choose payment by PayPal, depending upon the type of PayPal account you have, PayPal might deduct a fee from your payment in order for you to receive the money.

Do NOT mail unsolicited bags to us.

Thank you and we hope this can be a win-win situation.

Why are there Dooney & Bourke Bags on ??

Paula's Vintage Dooney & Bourke Blog A note from Cherry Hill:

"When my last good leather purse needed replacing, I started shopping but I must say, I wasn't able to find a well made, sturdy, handsome handbag that fit my lifestyle. Then I saw Paula's Dooney & Bourke Equestrian bag and thought it would be perfect for me - that was the good news.

The bad news was that D&B no longer makes the Equestrian handbags. With Paula's help (she's very resourceful) I now have a wonderful vintage D&B bag that should last me another 30 years ! I am so pleased with my new handbag that we decided to partner with Paula and offer select, vintage Dooney & Bourke handbags on our site.

Take the time to read about this fascinating company and the vintage equestrian bags we are carrying. If you have any questions, write Paula at . She's our resident Dooneyite."

"You made the whole process very smooth and satisfying and I do thank you for that. You have been a joy to work with. Thank you." - W. R.
