 Speed Control

An important element of training and riding any horse is "speed control".  We want slow horses to wake up and move out and we want quick horses to slow down and relax.  No matter what our style of riding, we are all trying to achieve rhythmic, balanced gaits that can be moved up or down a notch at our request.  Speed control gives us variety within gaits, allows us to cover ground when we want to, to work in tight spots when necessary, and speed control gives us a smooth, comfortable ride.  But above all, speed control spells SAFETY.
