Video Format Information

Horsekeeping Videos, VHS and DVD,
are in NTSC format, Region 0.

There are three world standards for video: PAL, NTSC and SECAM.

NTSC (National Television System Committee) is used by many countries on the American continent as well as many Asian countries including Japan.

PAL (Phase Alternating Line) was adopted by most European countries except for France.

SECAM (Sequential Couleur Avec Memoire or Sequential Colour with Memory) was implemented in France.

VHS. Many UK and European VHS VCRs are dual format and will play both NTSC and PAL videos. Please check your video player and TV before ordering VHS tapes to make sure they will play NTSC.

DVD. 95% of DVD players sold worldwide, including those in PAL and SEACAM countries, will play NTSC format DVDs, which is what ours are.

DVD Region Codes. There are 6 DVD region codes in the world. They are used primarily as a marketing tool so that DVDs released on one region cannot be played in another region. Horsekeeping DVDs are coded Region 0, which means they are set to play in all regions of the world.
