Happy Spring !

April showers often bring skin problems. Why? Wet, muddy, shedding horses, rubbing on anything they can lean against...anxious groomers using sharp tools...the skin can become scratched, abraded and inflamed, setting the stage for all types of skin invaders.

Your horse should have year round skin checks, thorough exams by hand, but especially during the spring.

Here is an excerpt from my book "Cherry Hill's Horsekeeping Almanac".

Take care of your horse and have a great ride !
