Hi
Cherry, my name is Hannah.
My horse, i just
recently got her about 2 months ago and it has been raining a lot in michigan...so
i have been keeping her in her stall a lot during the day. And of course i provide
hay and after she gets done eating that I assume that she gets bored and she is
eating and chewing the wood. How can i stop this behavior?
Thanks
a bunch -Hannah
Hi Hannah,
If
you go to my main article page, which is
Cherry Hill's
Horse Information Roundup,
you will see a Search
box toward the top of the page. If you type in "chewing wood" you will
get search results for the articles that relate to your problem. In this case,
the first article that comes up in the search is Cribbing
or Wood Chewing.
If you want more information
on Wood Chewing, refer to the following books and DVDs:
Horsekeeping
on a Small Acreage
Stablekeeping
Horse Housing
Your Horse
Barn DVD
I'm often away or at the barn so don't
get around to answering these questions for a while. I hope you learn how to use
the Search Tool on the Roundup page because it will help you locate what you need
fast !!
