Press Release

Cherry Hill, most prolific US horse book author, adds five more books to her stable.

Colorado, February 10, 2000: Cherry Hill of Livermore, Colorado has been busy writing about her passion - horses! An award winning author of 23 books on horse training, riding, and horse care, Cherry Hill celebrated a five book year in 1999. In January, Macmillan Publishing (now IDG Books) released her two latest training books. Longeing and Long Lining the English and Western Horse, a hardbound book with over 250 photos, illustrates in detail the tack and techniques used in ground training. 101 Longeing and Long Lining Exercises is a companion comb-bound workbook. In it, each exercise includes a round pen or arena map illustrating the exercise and detailed instructions, tips, cautions and variations.

In June, Storey Books released 101 Horsemanship and Equitation Patterns, a ringside guide for practice and show. Cherry, a long time horse show judge, designed each pattern as it would be used at a horse show. Readers are guided through each maneuver with specific coaching and advice to help improve both horse and rider performance.

In December, Storey Books added two new volumes to Cherry's popular Horsekeeping Skills Series. Stablekeeping A Visual Guide to Safe and Healthy Horsekeeping contains over 280 photos with details for running an efficient barn - designing stalls, planning a tack room, choosing flooring, storing feed, maintaining turnout areas, dealing with natural disasters and much more.

Trailering Your Horse A Visual Guide to Safe Training and Traveling , with over 290 photos, takes the reader step by step through choosing a truck and trailer and learning how to maintain them for safety and longevity; preparing a horse for trailer loading using a series of ground training exercises; using safe loading practices for various types of trailers; and caring for a horse en route.
