Corn Row or Cobblestone?

These inlay techniques of setting stone against stone are related yet different. They are most often seen in Navajo stone work. Both methods require that each stone be rounded or beveled along its top edges before being placed in the desired pattern.

Here is the difference: Corn row refers to similar size pieces of stone set parallel, side by side in a neat row - the edges of each stone are usually rounded. Cobblestone refers to pieces that are fitted perpendicular or angled to each other like you'd see in a stone courtyard. Often cobblestone pieces vary in size and have beveled rather than rounded edges.

Paula says - "Most leather concho belts are quite adjustable. You can adjust them to fit a smaller waist by punching additional holes in the leather. You can slide the conchos along the the leather to adjust their spacing closer together or farther apart. You could even remove one or more conchos if you want to make the belt very short. Also you could cut excess leather off the tail end of the belt. To make a belt larger, you can purchase a leather belt of the proper length and put the conchos and buckle on the new belt."

ABOUT TURQUOISE

Turquoise is associated with the sky, and bringing sky energy to earth. It is known as a master healer stone as it is believed to help speed the healing process. It is also thought that turquoise can help promote honest and clear communication from the heart.
Turquoise comes in all shades of blue, to blue-green and it is the natural variations in turquoise that make it appealing. The color of turquoise in American Indian jewelry ranges from brownish green to bright blue. Found in veins sandwiched in between layers of mother rock, turquoise can show some of the influence of the mother rock in its matrix or veining. The matrix colors range from blue to golden brown to black and sometimes with golden flecks. Many people prefer turquoise with matrix over clear stones. Read more about stones.
