Paula says - "You are buying two watch tips. The term Watch Tips refers to the two Native American made decorative panels that connect the timepiece to the expansion band. "We include at no extra charge an expansion band and the timepiece shown here. (Neither of these are sterling silver nor Native American made). We are selling you the tips only - the timepiece and band are included free of charge. We make no warranty on the timepiece or band. It may or may not need a new battery. Sold AS-IS."
Background has inscribed texture lines characteristic of Hopi silver overlay work.
Tips are 1 3/4" long x 1 1/2" wide.

Jacob Poleviyouma, Jr. Jacob Poleviyouma, Jr. was of the Hopi Sun Clan in the Shungopavi-Hotevilla Pueblo. He learned his craft at the Hopi Silvercraft Cooperative Guild in Second Mesa, Arizona and produced jewelry from 1976 until his death in 1986. Hopi Silvercraft Guild The Hopi Silvercraft Guild was formed in 1949 by the Indian Arts and Crafts Board and the Hopi Government Agency. For twenty years, the Guild provided classes, a central workshop and a stable marketing outlet for Hopi made items. Bear is considered the most powerful of all of the animals and is one of the most popular subjects of fetish carvers. Bear is a spiritual guide and represents strength and self-knowledge. He has supernatural powers, great healing powers. Bear is a symbol deliberate action, introspection, soul and insight for the past and the future. The Bear is the guardian of the West an is one of the animals of the Six Directions. |
